Post Beatmatch Problem
Jow guys,

I mix almost for 5 months now, and from day to day I have problems with beatmatching, I asked many times around for a sollution, but can't finf the perfect solution that fits me.
I practice 2 months now to mix on the regular way [1EAR: Incoming tune / 1EAR : Box] but always have the problem that I can't match the both beats inside my head.
Really starts to anoying me, if you have a solution for me, then reply :!:

there is no direct solution, it's only a matter of training & gaining more experience.

how do you get voted "best upcoming talent" without being able to beatmatch properly? :D

Don't wanna be offensive, just wondering... héhé

as for a solution: what the other guys say. Practice, practice & practice. After a while you'll be able to beatmatch every tune available, if the pitch-range of you TT allows it, obviously. It really becomes an automatism in your brain. Once you get a hang of it, you can start to learn how to spin properly. (cause beatmatching ain't the "difficult" part)

As everyone else said, practice.. or try listening to both records in your headphone.. Maybe you'll hear the difference that way.

@ Topic :

Guess you once had the same problem like I do, it gives me a chilly feeling, to know that I'm not the only one who is having this :!:

Thanks

That's the way I mix for 60%, but still I want to mix like the most. You never know which mixer you have on a party.

bootyshake behind the decks bro, try to hop onto the beat, it helps a litle to figure out if your tune needs to be adjust faster or slower before mixed in ...

's a small tip that not always works but it helped me a lot in my begin days

Use a "Pendulum" :teeth:, smoke weed, drink beer, put on the telly (with sound off), ask yer love for a lapdance to the music, practice until u drop and/or mix in yer headphone once in a while.
If that doesn't help maybe the tunes simply aren't made for each other

why would this have something to do with the mixer?
and why would you mix 'like most dj's do'? just do what fits you...

i 've been practicing for almost a year and still make a lot of mistakes, but for me: i always focus on the kicks in both tracks and try to get them straight. If this succeeds (for like 8/16 bars or sth) i go back to the 'key point' in record 2, wait for 'a good moment' in record 1 and hope it works out fine :d

good luck, and yeah: practice, practice, practice!! get to know your tunes by heart, know when the break comes and how long it lasts (if you can't mix in before the break), when the bass kicks in, count to 4,8, 16 and magically 32 (after a while you'll leave the counting :) )

Word to the DJ Tutor at youtube! http://youtube.com/watch?v=9c9gik5JaXY
defo check out his tutorials, coz they can help you a lot!

peace

how could that have anything to do with the mixer? mix how you're used to mix & everything will work out just fine... there are some djs that just let 2 tunes play in there headset,... if it works why not do it?

I always beatmatch with my headphones completely on..
In fact it's even an advantage when the monitors are crappy or absent ;)
