|Post subject:||Your software setup?|
I'm wondering what most ppl use as their basic setup in software.
Sequencing, Mastering, Editing, Instruments, FX?
Sequencing: I've been working with FL Studio for years but I'm now, slowly but surely, learning Sonar. It's absolutely an amazing piece of software!
Mastering: Waves Bundle 4 (Comp, EQ, Limiting)
Editing: Soundforge v6 (I should get it updated)
Instruments: Since I started producing downtempo stuff, I've started using more and more virtual instruments, rather than synths. Stuff like NI Elektric Piano, EQWL Symphonic Orchestra, Phantom Horns, Steinberg The Grand, etc.
FX: Ohmboyz Delay , Waves Bundle 4, TC Works Native Bundle

Sequencing : I use Renoise. I fell in love with Fasttracker 2 back then, and never once wanted something else than that kind of rusty old interface with hex numbers everywhere
Also, it's one of the cheapest product on the market with as much capabilities than sequencers like cubase, logic, ...
Mastering : Izotope Ozone 3. Great soft
Editing: Soundforge too, it's a nice tool
Instruments: Zeta++ has not disapointed me till now and I hope I still can get a lot of nice sounds from it
FX: various vsts, i use a lot of free ones. Also, antares filter / tube = great
as possible,i try to buy the stuff i use the most, even if it's hard to find good tools for a a cheap price.

I can only afford Live 5 for the moment
(but i'm not much of a producer)
Anybody working on Mac?
maybe start with telling your OS
EDIT: -> upgraded to Live 7

I'm working on a mac,
but at the moment there's no osx installed on it
Using stuff like Ardour2, Jamin, a lot of LADSPA plugins, Hydrogen, seq24.
But the most important part of the setup if jackd, the audio server.
It's serves for very flexible routing between audio/midi inputs and outputs.

I'm working on a pc.
Sequencing: FL 6 and Cubase (mixdown with my hardware mixer)
Mastering, Comp, EQ: Waves plugins (my favourite plugins), PSP vintagewarmer, Classic plugins (dunno the maker, but it's free!)
Instruments: NI Massive (really great for DnB!)
FX: PSP Camelphat (really nice for unexpected effects!)
I think I forgot a couple of vst's because I'm not at home, but I'll update this later!
What are you using as analyser? I use the one from Waves.
