Post Getting started with Ableton 6
Hello,

I've got myself Ableton 6 for a couple of days, for live performances and mixing my own tunes, but I really don't know how to get started. I've been searching for a couple of tutorials on the Ableton website and the breakz forum, but I think they don't really help me out. Had the same problem with FL6 a couple of months ago, but since I got some personal help, I really got to know this program and I could figure the rest out by myself. So my question is, how did you guys managed to master this program? Are there any good tutorials for total noobs :) ?

Thanks in advance!

there's a really good site to get started with live sessions here : www.abletonlivedj.com

there's a good amount of threads for starting , some sessions are also available in live format so you easily understand what's going on ..

edit : you need to register to view the topics but it's really worth the registration ...

There's a tutorial in ableton itself which is quite useful to learn the basics..

Yeah off course, altho most people told me it isn't that hard to use.
If you dl the demo you got a tutorial with it, so was thinking of reading/studying it on the train.

Will go for the mac version, is Ableton difficult to use when it comes to making music in general?

as long as you disable auto-warp, it's as easy/difficult as cubase.
With autowarp, some things are a lot easier, but you often crash against certain walls you wouldn't have hit with another more traditional sequencer.
I've tried ableton for a while and went back to my old cosy cubase. Couldn't find the big plus over my previous environment.
