You can do both, just buy the records you really really like, all the others you can get via the online mp3 shop.

Serato

Buy vinyl

serato = watching porn
vinyl = having sex

Like you see, the two works but vinyl is just better :wink:

its just a fact that vinyl is touchable and exists and the serato are just Binaire codes... its like watching having pictures on your pc in place of having them on photopaper - seeing a flyer on breakz or having it in your hands

Buying online will get you far enough, but it's costly with all the shipping that's involved. Still, it's a sad state of affairs :/

buying online actually saves you money these days....(when ordering over 5 records at once)
last time I ordered on chemical I was paying 8.30 euro for a record (including shipping and vat), in the record store it's 8.70 these days

all those serato bashers obviously never used it,
i know, i was one of them till some time ago :D

serato rocks, nonetheless will it never take over the sound of vinyl, but every other aspect, mobility, creative options, speed of working, the amount of "records" you can carry with you, just makes life so much more pleasant while playing out ...

I would go for serato...it can still gives u the vinyl touch...and it's a lot cheaper...+ buying mp3's also saves u the hassle of searching for records

hassle... hassle...

see it as a hobby é

nothing more satisfying than finding that one record you were looking for in the back of an old curver on some record fair where you were actually looking for some funky or hip hop tracks

restectpah, 2nd refuge on this one!

I do agree here for a small part it's idd nice find a records you've been wanting for ages in a curver for 2,5 euro. On the other hand where are these recordshops in Belgium today? U've got the recordfairs I agree upon that. But after school passing by the record shop? for dnb I think those days are long over (in Belgium)...if I see it now from personal experience in Antwerp u got Wallys and USA Import.

there's an other one near de ossenmarkt (prinsstraat)...lot's of choise (old to new) and about 7.5 euro's for a record :wink:

i like vinyl the most, it never let's you down. It's a little romantic i think, people were using vinyl from back in the 'jaren stillekes'. It's timeless!
Offcourse it's expensive, if you want to save some money don't do it!

i always get my records here (dnb and jungle): www.cyclone-records.com,
nice shop, nice shopkeeper and some very nice vinyls..

Thanks for the comments guys ; ). Think I'll start buying myself some vinyls, this will save me a lot of money because otherwise I would have to buy serato and a decent laptop ..
And who knows, later I can still switch to serato ..
