Post Recycle problem
When I chop up a break (1.6MB .wav-file) of let's say 4 measures and I open it in Reason, the first several hits are 2.5 MB or so :? Therefore I can't open them. The rest of the hits are just a few kb's,so that's ok. What am I doing wrong? Has this got something to do with the fact that i chopped the break in about 40 hits? Is such a wav file too large to chop up?thx

did you save in wav? that would explain it since reason needs .rex-files to get all the chopped up pieces.

mm that could not be, i've used bigger samples in reason. I do believe there's a limit on the length of your loop when rexing, but i've never reached it so.. try again? If you're using big ass loops, might wanna cut em in half and reattaching em in reason maybe.

Maybe it has smt to do with the fact that u use 40 slices, indeed. Did you check that the left-loop-slicer is placed at the utter left-side? Sometimes Recycle automatically asks this question, it hIas some importance, though.
Hope thsi was helpful anyhow.

don't understand this

a) your 1.56mb loop cutted up in recycle is normal that each indivudual slice has +- the same mb value. that's just because the whole sample is cutted up x pieces still, keeping it's full quality.

b) you want to preview your slices f.e in the drumcomputer or nn-xt sampler. again it's normal you don't hear a preview sound if the file is is more than 2mb sharp. underneath 2mb you'll be hearing the preview

c) it's pretty normal that your wav is 1.6mb and your rexed file only fe. 562kb. if you open each indivual slice it could be that some hits are 1mb or less/more

can you be more specific? it's quite remarkable you can't open a 2,5mb sample. OR it's the preview you ment.

when i sample from fe scratch records i sample the whole plate, load it in recycle and cut each sample. happens quite alot that such a rex file contains more then 80 slices. and is about 170mb large.
therefor (+ you have waaaay more control of earch slice)
an option is to load the rex file in the patch browser in the nn-xt sampler... not the individual slices. (if you wanna preview that, simple dash the corresponding key on the pianoroll / drumgrid)

hmm hope this helps...

those big cuts will prolly have the longest duration in time aswell compared to the slices of the break.

oh and ps. aslong your break has less then 99 slices reason can open it without any problem.
things might take a while to load though :D

np for the help, hope you'll work it out.
